Set 5, Women's Singles Match: Ana Ivanovic beat Daniela Hantuuchova 6-5 (7-5)
Undoubtedly the most interesting set of the match as Ana Ivanovic fought back twice in the set to finally defeat Daniela Hantuchova. The Slovakian player from Singapore Slammers got herself healthy 4-2 lead and looked well on course to win the set for the side but errors on her part cost her the match. The match that went down till tie-breakers again had Daniela Leading but a motivated Ana made sure to take complete advantage of the lost points on her opponent's end to win the set and take Indian Aces to 26-26 win.
Set 4, Men's Singles Match: Roger Federer beats Tomas Berdych 6-4
Third straight set win in a row for Roger Federer as he defeated Tomas Berdych by 6-4. The singles set was tougher compared to mixed double and men's doubles match but Federer made sure there would be no disappointment in store for Aces fan. He broke early by Berdych's struggling serves coupled with Federer's aggressive game saw Indian Aces float to 20-11 lead against Singapore Slammers.
Set 3, Men's Doubles Match: Roger Federer/Rohan Bopanna beat Nick Kyrgios/Leyton Hewitt 6-1
Roger Federer is on fire. What majestic volleys, the net points, slice and backhand winners at its best. Federer is making the crowd at Indira Gandhi Stadium go crazy as Swiss Master wins his second doubles match. He first won his mixed doubles match with Sania Mirza and now win men;s doubles match with Rohan Bopanna. Aces won it comfortably by 6-1. Indian Aces lead 14-7.
Meanwhile, the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium is abuzz with Federer chants as Federer claims he has played very few mixed doubles tennis, with Sania Mirza being the fourth partner after Martina Hingis, Martina Navartilova and his wife, Mirka. Apart from the super star on court, the spectators are doubly lucky to have superstar of millennium Amitabh Bachchan being present in the crowd to watch Federer play in IPTL.
Set 2, Mixed Doubles Match: Roger Federer/Sania Mirza defeat Bruno Soares/Daniela Hantuchova 6-0
This is definitely the dream mixed doubles team especialluy for the Indian fans as Roger Federer partnered India's Sania Mirza. After two defeats with her partner Rohan Bopanna, Sania ended her losing streak by joining Roger Federer as her doubles partner. The Indo-Swiss duo defeated Daniel Bruno Soares and Daniela Hantuchova by 6-0. Aces now lead 8-6.
Set 1, Past Champions Match: Pat Rafter (Singapore Slammers) beat Pete Sampras (Micromax Indian Aces) 6-2
Well looks like the jet-lag got the better of 14-time grand slam winner Pete Sampras as he lost his first match of IPTL comprehensively against Pat Rafter. Sampras showed glimpse of his former glory in few backhand winners and slices but Rafter was way too good for the American legend in today's match. Slammers lead 6-2 against Indian Aces.
Toss: Micromax Indian Aces Player-Coach Fabrice Santoro won the toss and have decided to go ahead with the legend's match to start the order of the play for the match. From Indian Aces, Pete Sampras will play Patrick Rafter in the Match 1 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
The wait if finally over for all the Indian fans as Swiss great Roger Federer has joined the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL). The Micromax Indian Aces, the Indian team in the tournament is finally fielding their complete and full strength side with Roger Federer and American legend and 14-time grand slam champion Pete Sampras joining the team. It is the biggest moment in the history of Indian tennis with some of the biggest names of Tennis world coming in the subcontinent.
The last time these two sides played, Micromax Indian Aces had lost narrowly to DBS Singapore Slammers in the Super-Shoot Out, something the former would love to avenge here at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
