Teresa Cheng to Head Lucasfilm Singapore


SHANGHAI - Teresa Cheng has been appointed from DreamWorks Animation to be the new general manager of Lucasfilm Singapore.


She will report directly to Lynwen Brennan, president and GM of Industrial Light & Magic.


Cheng was until recently the senior production executive for the joint venture between DreamWorks Animation in the U.S. and Shanghai-based Oriental DreamWorks.


She previousy worked at Warner Bros., Rhythm & Hues and Digital Domain and has feature film credits including 'Shrek Forever After,' Madagascar,' 'Batman & Robin' and 'True Lies.'


The Singapore-based unit of ILM was opened in 2004 and has provided visual effects work for 28 films. It contributed nearly half of the animation work for Gore Verbinski's 'Rango,' which won the Academy Award for best animated feature. ILM Singapore recently worked on 'Transformers: Age of Extinction,' and is currently working on 'Star Wars Episode VII' and 'Agent 47.'
