Rousing welcome for Juventus in Singapore

POSTED: 14 Aug 2014 22:00 UPDATED: 14 Aug 2014 23:54 Close to 150 fans greeted the Serie A champions at Changi Airport. Arturo Vidal, who is linked to Manchester United, is in Singapore as well, ahead of Juventus' clash with a Singapore selection side on Saturday (Aug 16).

SINGAPORE: Italian Serie A champions Juventus arrived in Singapore on Thursday (Aug 14). The 28-man squad was greeted by close to 150 fans at Singapore's Changi Airport, many of them singing and chanting.



Giorgio Chiellini, who was famously bitten by Luis Suarez during the World Cup, is celebrating his birthday on Thursday and he waved to acknowledge a birthday cake carried by fans. Also present was Arturo Vidal who has been linked to Manchester United.



Juventus will play a Singapore selection side at the new National Stadium on Saturday (Aug 16) with the early kick-off time of 6pm. Fans will be able to catch some of the world's biggest stars including Gianluigi Buffon, Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo in action. This is the third and final leg of Juve's Asia-Pacific tour. The Turin club has been undefeated on tour, having beaten Indonesia All-Star team 8-1 and narrowly seeing off an Australian A-League All-Stars' side 3-2.
