[UPDATE on Saturday, 18 January, 7:00pm: Adding new medals won]Singapore's swimmers clinched six medals on Saturday to bring their total contribution to a dominant 18 out of 20 for Singapore at the ASEAN Para Games in Naypyidaw, Myanmar.After setting a meet record in the 100m freestyle earlier this week, Benson Tan was narrowly pipped to gold in the 50m freestyle (S14) by Thailand's Kumuda, who finished in 28.15s and just 0.21 seconds ahead of the Singaporean.Tan's teammate Han Liang Chou took bronze in the same event with a time of 29.17s.The men also picked up two more silvers through Bryan James Seow in the 50m backstroke (S14) and Lawrence Tay in the 100m breaststroke (SB14). Both finished some distance behind the same opponent -- Maradona of Indonesia.And Singapore's females added a silver and bronze via Charlotte Lee in the 100m breaststroke (SB14) and Chew Zi Ling in the 50m freestyle (S15) respectively.

Earlier, on Friday, Singapore swimmer Theresa Goh won the 100m breaststroke (SB4) event.She powered home in a meet record time of 2:18.19s, surpassing the previous mark of 2:22.15 she set at the previous Games in 2011, and nearly a minute clear of silver medalist Aye Thu Aung of Myanmar who finished in 3:13.27s.The victory also made it three out of three golds for the 26-year-old, after her triumphs in the 50m breaststroke and 200m freestyle events over the last two days.'I didn't think about the medals too much as I'm more concerned about improving my time,' Goh told Yahoo Singapore. 'But I'm really pleased to receive three out of three gold medals.''(It) spurs me on to make sure there will be a repeat in Singapore 2015,' she said, adding that she is already looking forward to getting back to training at home.Later in the day, James Leo picked up a bronze in the 50m butterfly (S9) and Benson Tan copped silver in the 50m butterfly (SB14), bringing Singapore's medal tally in swimming to 12 with one day of competition remaining.Nurulasyiqah Binte Mohammad Taha also won gold in her boccia BC3 individual event.More updates to come.
