Singapore, Indonesia reaffirm bilateral ties

POSTED: 09 Dec 2014 14:30 During a meeting with Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Foreign Affairs Minister K Shanmugam reiterated Singapore's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

JAKARTA: Foreign Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam, who is on a visit to Jakarta, paid a courtesy call on Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Tuesday (Dec 9).


During the meeting, Mr Shanmugam and Mr Jusuf reaffirmed the strong relations between the two countries, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a news release. Mr Shanmugam also reiterated Singapore's commitment to continue to strengthen the 'mutually beneficial bilateral relationship' with Indonesian President Joko Widodo's administration, MFA added. Mr Shanmugam and Mr Jusuf also discussed economic developments and investment opportunities in Indonesia.


Mr Shanmugam is in Jakarta for a two-day official visit. He leaves for Singapore on Tuesday.
