SINGAPORE: Hello Kitty celebrated her 40th birthday with much fanfare on Saturday (Nov 1), as 17,000 participants showed up for the first Hello Kitty Run held in Sentosa.
The famous Sanrio character was serenaded with a birthday song by the race participants, and presented with flowers and a cupcake by childhood friend Dear Daniel. The pair then flagged off the race at 8am.

Post-race, participants were treated to the Hello Kitty Beach Party, which featured a live band performance, a fashion show, sand-castle building
