All 3 Singapore telcos announce iPhone 6 prices

SINGAPORE: Local telcos StarHub and SingTel have released their prices for Apple's latest smartphones, and StarHub announced that its booking site will open on Monday (Sep 15) afternoon for eligible customers who have registered their interest.

StarHub said their customers will receive booking information through email or SMS by Monday, while SingTel said customers will receive an email with details on how to book an appointment.

According to StarHub, the 16GB iPhone 6 will cost S$518 under the new 4G 3 plan, which will see subscribers charged S$42.90 per month. On the other end of the scale, the 128GB iPhone 6 Plus will cost S$935 under the same subscription plan.

Customers who successfully place an order can choose to collect their phone from any of the telco's 35 participating retail outlets, or have the phone delivered to them on Friday, said StarHub.

The full breakdown of StarHub's prices can be found below:

SingTel customers have to buy their smartphone with the new Combo plans announced in August. Under the Combo 2 plan, the 16GB iPhone 6 will cost S$518, while the 128GB iPhone 6 Plus will cost S$928. Unlike StarHub's and M1's comparatively-priced plans, SingTel's plan will have 2GB of packaged data instead of 3GB.

SingTel will also be running a three-day launch event at the Marina Bay Sands for the new iPhones. The event will start on Friday at 8am.

SingTel has priced the iPhone 6 as follows:

Last Friday, M1 was the first telco to release its iPhone 6 prices.

Here are M1's previously announced plans:

SingTel has yet to announce its prices. SingTel and StarHub had opened up pre-registration portals for interested customers on Wednesday, while M1 did not require customers to pre-register their interest. Pre-registration for SingTel closes on Sep 15, Monday, at noon.

StarHub also announced that they are waiving the 4G value-added service (VAS) fee for new and recontracting customers for their new plans, which will be available from Sep 19. M1 had also followed SingTel's lead in permanently waiving the 4G VAS for subscribers.

Apple announced the new-generation iPhone 6 on Sep 9, along with the Apple Watch, a new Apple Pay cashless payment system and an update to its iOS mobile operating system.
