Nicole Kidman's father, Antony, has reportedly died from a fall while visiting the star's sister Antonia in Singapore.
Dr Kidman was a clinical psychologist and Director of the Health Psychology Unit at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital.
He was a contributor to the Australian Women's Weekly, and the magazine's website said staff were addressed about his death today.
A spokeswoman for Royal North Shore Hospital said they would not be commenting.
Nicole Kidman and her husband, country music star Keith Urban, returned to Australia in December last year for Dr Kidman and wife Janelle's 50th wedding anniversary party for the actor's Sydney parents.
Antonia also flew in from Singapore for the party.
